IV. Classification of E-mail
A. External E-mail & Internal E-mail
External E-mail is for connection with the outside enterprises or companies. (Letter of business)
Internal E-mail is information exchanges between colleagues.
B. Category
Letter of Application
Letter of Daily Work(welcome, thanks, meeting, leave, notice…)
Letter of Social Life(congratulation, apology, festival…)
V. Basic Format
(subject, salutation, body, close, signature)
A.Subject:
short and clear, usually noun phrases, or complete sentences within the length of 35 letters.
C. Complimentary Close
1. Very Formal 非常正规的(例如给政府官员的): Respectfully yours, Yours respectfully
2. Formal 正规的(例如客户公司之间啦): Very truly yours, Yours very truly, Yours truly
3. Less Formal 不太正规的(例如客户): Sincerely yours, Yours Sincerely, Cordially yours, Yours cordially, Cordially
4. Informal 非正规的(例如朋友,同事之类):Regards, Best, Warm regards, Best regards, My best, Thanks, Cheers
D. Signature
Your given name or full name are both fine. Your title is unnecessary.
IV. Body of Letter
A. Begin with a nice salutation
It's important to always open your email with nice salutation.
