Shanghai is a city known for its diverse and delicious cuisine. From traditional Shanghainese dishes to international flavors, there is something for every food lover in this bustling metropolis. One of my favorite Shanghai delicacies is xiaolongbao, which are steamed soup dumplings filled with savory pork and a burst of hot soup. Every time I take a bite into a xiaolongbao, I am reminded of the rich culinary heritage of Shanghai.
Another must-try in Shanghai is the famous sheng jian bao, or pan-fried pork buns. These buns are crispy on the bottom and soft on the top, filled with juicy pork and a flavorful broth. The combination of textures and flavors in sheng jian bao is simply irresistible.
In addition to traditional Shanghainese cuisine, Shanghai also offers a wide range of international options. One of my favorite international restaurants in Shanghai is a French bistro located in the French Concession area. The cozy atmosphere and delicious escargot make it a go-to spot for a special night out.
