摘要：PURPOSE:To prevent breakage of a ceramic body in case the ceramic body is installed to a Diesel engine having violent vibration, by a method wherein the ceramic body is secured to an inner case through the medium of a securing material, and the inner case is secured to an outer case through the medium of a buffering material. CONSTITUTION:A filter element 1 made of a ceramic is provided at its interior with a number of rectangular passages 2a and 2b, and an inlet side end 3 and an outlet side end 4 are alternately blocked up with a blocking piece 5. A wall part 6 serves as the filtering surface of a filter. In this case, the filter element 1 is secured to the interior of an inner case 7 by means of a securing material 8 made of a mixture material of barmiculite and inorganic fiber. The inner case 7, around which a buffering material 11 of metal mesh is wound, is contained in an outer case 12. This, even if violent vibration is transferred to the outer case 12 through a coupling pipe 18 on the engine side and a coupling pipe 19 on the maffler side, enables protection of the filter element 1 through buffering of the
vibration with the aid of the buffering material 11.
