Start of Spring
Origin:
The beginning of spring, also known as "striking the spring", is the first solar term among the 24 solar terms in China. "Standing" means "beginning". China takes the beginning of spring as the beginning of spring. The beginning of spring is when the sun reaches 315 degrees of longitude on February 3 (or 4, or 5) every year. In an astronomical sense, it marks the beginning of spring.
The beginning of spring, like the beginning of summer, the beginning of autumn and the beginning of winter, is a solar term reflecting the change of the four seasons. The beginning
of spring is a solar term with a slight turning point. Although this turning point is not very obvious, the trend is that the weather is beginning to warm up. The coldest period has basically passed, and people begin to smell the smell of early spring.
customs:
On the "first spring" day, commemorative activities have a long history, at least 3000 years ago. At that time, Jumang, also known as Mang God, was the spring god in charge of farming.
The ceremony of the Zhou Dynasty to welcome the "Spring Beginning" was roughly as follows: Three days before the Spring Beginning, the Emperor began to fast. On the Spring Beginning Day, he personally led the officials of the princes of Sangong and Jiuqing to greet the spring in the eastern suburbs and pray for a bumper harvest. The reason for going to the eastern suburbs to welcome the spring is that the God Jumang, who is worshipped in the Spring Festival, lives in the East. Later, the Spring Festival was not only held in the eastern suburbs.
