Hand-writing in our society is still a sign of individual’s ability and personality, and good writing could impress others, thus bringing us some benefits. It is true that good hand-writing impresses others. For example, teachers will give extra scores for that in examination.
A student who has the advantage of writing is likely to be more confident. Schools or parents tend to encourage students to take part in some activities in relation to calligraphy. They could get more opportunities to show themselves, to open their minds and to be approached to the society, whether they are awarded a prize or not.
Calligraphy is an old, but still effective, way to cultivate one’s mind and manner. There is a growing body of evidence that it is easy for a child doing calligraphy exercise to keep peace in his/her mind, concentrate on what he/she is doing.
