摘要
时代精神往往揭示着与之对应的生存方式与历史发展，相应的通过人们的生活生产、社会交往与风俗习惯，时代精神得以展现。
本文对长命锁的主题进行分类分析，从主题入手探究其背后所存在的社会政治文化等多种因素，进而向人们展现出相应的时代精神。当笔者把长命锁带入当代的语境之下，从个体精神中体会时代精神，用当代首饰的创作手法对长命锁进行创作，使当代的时代精神在其身上得以呈现。本文首先以长命锁的缘起及形制作为切入点，引出长命锁与时代精神的对应关系，再分别从生命、权力、教育观、宗教以及政治等主题进行一一分析，向读者展现出其背后的政治文化等多种因素，进而使与之相对应的时代精神得以浮现。当笔者把目光投向当代社会中的个体精神之上，对个体精神与时代精神之间的关系进行讨论，得出当代的时代精神就是个人的时代精神的总结，个人的时代精神就是对当代时代精神的演化这一结论，再把长命锁的创作带入这一语境之中，用对个体精神的感知来对当代长命锁进行创作，使当代社会的时代精神在当代长命锁中得以呈现。
