随着我国经济的发展和工业化、城市化的进程，大批农村劳动力流向城市和东部经济发展较快的沿海地区，成为城市里的“农民工”，是指户籍在农村，拥有数量不等的土地，但主要在城市从事非农产业，依靠打工收入维持家庭生活的农村外出务工人员。农民工是推进我国工业化和城市化进程不可或缺的力量。然而其子女的教育问题却令人堪忧。如果不能很好地解决农民工子女的教育问题，不仅耽误孩子们的青春和前途，将来很可能出现结构性失业，更严重的是长此以往，在未来的一定时期内我国的人力资源储备受到严峻挑战。因此农民工子女的教育问题，亟待引起各方的重视。
本文在搜集大量材料的基础上，首先分析了农民工子女就学现状；其次，分别指出了流动子女和留守子女教育上出现的问题，户籍限制，教学条件差，缺乏家庭教育的配合等；再次，从教育体制、户籍制度、观念和文化素质等各个方面分析了农民工子女教育问题的成因；最后，从观念、体制、政策举措等方面上提出了解决农民工子女教育问题的相应的对策。 
农民工子女的教育问题，是全社会不可忽视的一个问题。因此，党和国家及各级政府应给予帮助，并为他们创造一切可能的条件。在党和政府高度重视下，在社会各界共同努力下，在各有关部门各项政策不断完善的情况下，这个问题一定会得到妥善解决的。
