Remember that near earthquakes often start with bumps up and down and then sway from side to side. Distant earthquakes, on the other hand, have less of an up-and-down feel and more of a side-to-side sway.
Get close to your home

The time between the start of a major earthquake and the end of the shaking process is only a few dozen to a few dozen seconds, so it's important to make sure you don't lose any time in avoiding it.

Some of the safer places to avoid earthquakes are at the roots and corners of load-bearing walls, and where there are water and heating pipes. The most unfavourable places in the house are: unsupported beds; under suspended ceilings and chandeliers; on unsupported floors; next to glass (including mirrors) and large windows.

After choosing a place to hide, you should crouch or sit down, face down, with your forehead resting on your arms; or grab a firm object around you such as a table leg to avoid falling or being injured due to uncontrolled displacement of your body; protect your head and neck by keeping your head down and using your hands to protect your head or the back of your neck; protect your eyes by closing them to prevent foreign objects from hurting you; protect your mouth and nose by using a wet towel to cover your mouth and nose when possible to prevent ash and poisonous gas.

Whether the classroom is a building or a bungalow, students should quickly hide under their respective sturdy desks under the direction of the teacher; do not panic and crowd out, but wait for the earthquake to pass and then evacuate in an organised manner under the leadership of the teacher.
How to avoid an earthquake in a playground or outdoors
苏有朋个人资料If you are in an open area, stay in place, crouch down and protect your head; avoid tall buildings or dangerous objects; do not return to the classroom during an earthquake; do not run or crowd around; wait until the earthquake has passed and then follow the teacher's instructions.
