啬园建于1924年，为全国重点文物保护单位、"江苏省环境教育基地"、"南通市爱国主义教育基地"。

张謇墓茔居全园中心轴线北端。

墓的东南畔为“张氏飨堂”，此堂建于1927年，四合院式房舍，计380平方米。

堂内曾陈列张謇画像、各界人士祭奠的诗文、书法、挽联等。

墓园的中部，飨堂右侧是“憩厅”，为张氏后人所建，面积127.37平方米。

1956年落成时，郭沫若曾题写“张季直先生纪念馆”匾额相赠，此匾在“”中佚落。

张謇墓前，“憩厅”后横一小溪。

因张謇生前喜爱养鹤，故溪西小池内雕塑着几只形态各异的白鹤，

距鹤雕不远的水榭，称为“松鹤轩”，出轩北登假山，上有“碧云亭”，登亭环顾，可纵览全园景。
