Thanksgiving Day
With the development of reform and opening, more and more foreign cultures are being accepted by Chinese society, including Thanksgiving Day. But from ancient times, Christianity could never become the main stream of religions of China. In fact, Coming from American puritans on the May flower four hundred years ago, Thanksgiving Day is irreconcilable with Chinese culture.
中国感恩节However, obviously, this warm festival is being transformed to another stunt of new highlights of consumption by businessmen. For aught I know, they will thanks for customers when calculating their profits. The commercial side of it is gradually obliterating its cultural connotation. In other words, who is willing to celebrate a Christian festival without vacation and sales?
Then in conclusion, it is both unnecessary and unrealistic to popularize Thanksgiving day to Chinese society. On the other hand, a festival for thanks, such a common but warm behavior perhaps gives public a course for forgetting to thank in daily life.
Therefore, instead of advertising the western festival, we ought to carry forward our traditional thanks culture. We should thanks our ancestors, because they fought for our country and nations; we are supposed to thank our parents for raising us up; we should thank our teacher, friends, even strangers for their selfless help and so on, not only thank God, Indians, and turkeys.
