近年来，物流作为“第三利润源泉”和“经济领域中的黑暗大陆”发展得如火如荼。但是透过这种兴旺发达的表面现象，我们认真分析研究之后，不难发现：这种物流发展主要表现在宏观量的增加，而不是质的改变。从总体而言，我国物流发展还处于起步阶段，发展水平尚有待进
一步提高。随着世界经济一体化和市场竞争全球化的趋势，供应链已成为全球企业成功发展的要求，而在供应链中竞争力的提高，完善物流功能的服务质量已成为必然要求。因此，今后第三方物流发展的重点在于如何在供应链管理环境下实现发展，根据市场需要对物流资源进行合理配置和有效整合，实现供应链企业和第三方物流的共赢！
本文从理论和实践两方面着手分析。先从理论上加以分析，并与实践相印证，以推导和总结出我国第三方物流企业在协助供应链核心企业提升供应链管理能力时的作用和具体作为。针对在供应链管理条件下第三方物流的现状和问题，提出第三方物流在供应链管理条件下的建议，从而促进第三方物流在新的环境下又快又好的发展。
