The two tribes (部落) that live in the Rainforests of Amazon, the Matses and the Yora, are going to become the first indigenous (土著的) peoples living in voluntary isolation (自愿隔离) to have contact with other societies through the Internet.
The tribes were given waterproof android tablets (and also some solar-powered (太阳能供电的) equipment to be able to recharge their batteries), which was received with amazing reaction.
The idea is that by providing these communities with simple access to information throughout the web, they will be able to decide for themselves the importance of the contact and either react positively by exploring the Internet or to step back and return to isolation.

Human evolution, it turns out, blends biology with culture in ways unimaginable even a decade ago.
全国乙卷语文答案Evolution happens mostly beyond the fossils (化石) that is so familiar to us. The fossil remains tell us only how an animal looked; they do not give us much of how the animal behaved.
But the emergence (出现) of a whole new set of techniques— culture-friendly—has begun to reveal human evolution’s other half. Thanks to these techniques, anthropologists (人类学家) now see that our human biological evolution has a reflection in our cultural evolution.
C
Scientists have discovered that the Starlings birds were genetically wired to flock (成飞行) together smoothly and change direction without any leader.
Flocks of starlings are some of the most magnificent (宏伟的) air shows anyone can see. As they dance across the sky in large groups, starlings move easily together, and quickly and gracefully change direction. It is one of the most impressive displays of teamwork found in nature. It’s as if the birds are all in tune with each other.
The choice that a bird makes is based on a simple rule: become consistent (一致) with the group, especially with the seven nearest neighbors (邻居), regardless of direction.
D
Some monkeys recognize themselves in mirrors (镜子), and others do not. The mirror test is a simple check of self-awareness.
Monkeys are most likely to recognize themselves if they have long lives (and have had plenty of time to train their brain to look at shifting (变动) reflections), and if they live in complex social groups which develop self-directed skills.
The findings offer clues to human self-awareness, scientists say. Taken together with other experiments, the new evidence suggests that social intelligence and self-awareness work hand in hand throughout the animal kingdom.

Minecraft, a popular video game, asks its players to build virtual (虚拟的) realities out of digital blocks. Users are invited to build elaborate (复杂的) cities or towns, or challenge themselves to recreate famous landmarks.
This virtual world, when combined with reality, can be pretty fun and even educational. The game has been used to build replicas (复制品) of the Great Pyramid and the Coliseum.
But Minecraft can also be a useful tool. In California, high school students are using it to learn more about the history of their state. Teachers are using Minecraft to create virtual reality stories of historical events such as the Gold Rush. It contributes to hands-on learning and makes learning more interesting.
