Section A
1. The school sports meet is coming. will you take part in it？学校的运
动会马上就要来了，你准备参加吗？
（1）sports meet  运动会；
名词作定语修饰名词时，一般用单数形式，但woman, sport作定语时通常用复数形式；e.g. women teachers    sports shoes
（2）be + 短暂性动词现在进行时态表示即将发生的动作，类似的短暂性动词：go, come, fly, start, leave等；
< What time are you starting? 你们什么时候出发？
2. Which sport will you take part in?你将要参加哪一项运动？
(1) take part in + 活动参加....... ；
take part in = be in = join in ；
我将参加接力赛。I will take part in the relay race.
= I will join in the relay race.= I will be in the relay race.
3. The boys’ 800-meter race男子800米赛跑。
（1）800-meter = 800 meters
（2）15-year-old  “15岁的”    15 years old  “15岁”
<  He is a 15-year-old boy. = The boy is 15 years old.
4.I’ll be in the long jump and the high jump.我将会参加跳远和跳高。
take part in = be in = join in 参加 + 活动；
5.I believe you will win.我相信你会赢的。
6.I hope so. 我希望如此。
7.Steve, my best friend, will come to cheer me on.我最好的朋友Steve将会来为我加油。中国第一次参加奥运会
cheer sb. on 为.......加油；
8. It’s my first time to take part in the high jump.这是我第一次参
加跳高。
It’s one’s first time to do sth.这是某人第一次做某事。
9. I’m preparing for the long jump.我正在为跳远做准备。prepare for=be / get ready for 为........做准备；
10. I’ll make many friends during the sports meet.我会在运动会上
交许多朋友。
make friends 交朋友；
11.I’ll run in the teachers relay race.我将参加教师接力赛。
join in the teachers’ relay race 参加教师接力赛

enjoy / like doing sth. 喜欢做某事；

2. What shall we take? 我们要带些什么？
3. Shall I take my camera? 我需要带上我的照相机吗？
t ake one’s camera 带某人的照相机；
4. When shall we meet? 我们应该什么时候见面？
5. Let’s make it half past six. 让我们定在六点半吧。
Let's + V. 让我们.......； make it 定；

do / try to one’s best to do sth. 尽某人最大的努力做某事；
catch up with sb. 赶上某人；

neck and neck 并驾齐驱； hand in hand 手拉手；
8. Two boys run into each other.两个男孩撞到对方。
9. Michael is running past them and crossing the line.麦克超过了他
们，并且冲过了终点线。
Section C
1.The Olympic rings are a symbol of the Olympic games .奥运五环是奥运会的象征。
a / the symbol of .....的象征；
2. Both are held every four years. 两者都是每四年举办一次。
（1）are held 是一般现在时的被动语态，意为“被举办”；
（2）every four years 每四年； every other day 每隔一天；
（every +基数词+时间名词的复数每.../每隔...）
3. More cities will have the chance to hold the Olympics and the
Olympic games will be more exciting. 更多的国家就有机会举办奥运会，奥运会会变得更加激动。
（1）have the chance to do sth. 有机会做某事；
（2）more exciting 是exciting的比较级形式，意为“更加激动人心”。
4. The People’s Republic of China took part in the Olympics for the
first time in 1952.中国在1952年第一次参加奥运会。
for the first time 首次，第一次；
5. I don’t know whether I can win, but I will try my best. 我不知道我
是否会赢，但是我将尽我最大的努力。
whether 表示“是否”，通常可以加 or not。 if 也可以表示“是否”，但不与 or not 连用。
< 他不知道他爸是否给他买礼物。
He doesn’t know whether his father will buy a gift for him or not.
= He doesn’t know if his father will buy a gift for him.
Section D
1. Our class won first place. 我们班赢得了第一名。
当表示考试或比赛获得名次时，序数词前面不加the。
2. We’re sorry that we did badly in the high jump.很遗憾的是我们在
跳高上做得不好。
（1）do badly in = be bad at 在.....做得很差；
（2）do better in = be better in 做得更好, 更擅长于…. （better是 well，good的比较级）
3.I did my best and was the first to cross the finish line.我尽了我最大的努力，赢得了第一名。
（1）the finish line 终点线；
（2）the first to do sth. 做某事的第一人；
I am the first to finish homework. 我是完成作业的第一人。
4. I hope some day I’ll be able to take part in the Olympic Games.我希
望有一天我能参加奥运会。
be able to 有能力，能够。 can（过去式could）表示“能力、可能”时，只有现在式及过去式；而be able to 可以用于各种时态。
