我和同学们踏上了景德镇艺术游学的旅程，希望在这次游学中，体验不一样的生活。
导游跟我们讲以前景德镇称为：瓷都、昌南镇。十八世纪以前，欧洲人不会制造瓷器，因此中国特别是昌南镇的精美瓷器很受欢迎。在欧洲，昌南镇瓷器是十分受人珍爱的贵重物品。欧洲人就以“昌南（chang nan）”作为瓷器（china）和生产瓷器的“中国”（China）的代称，久而久之，欧洲人就把昌南的本意忘记了，只记得它是“瓷器”，即“中国”。
在浮梁，我们来到了“功夫小瓷”，那是陶瓷技能培训的专业基地，在那里我们可以亲自体验玩陶的乐趣，瓷厂的师傅耐心地给我们讲解拉坯的技术，我们更是亲手参与到陶瓷的制作中。做陶瓷分为四个过程：拉坯、利坯、上釉和画坯。我们先学拉坯，每个学生都很认真。在老师们的教导下，我们一一动手。做拉坯实在很不容易，需要很多耐心，但是大家都很仔细地去做，很快就学会。由于时间的问题我们直接学画坯。画坯特别有意思，大家都很感兴趣，有的同学还画得很好。每个人都尝试制作了一件作品，尽管有点不成形，但我们还是感受到了成功的乐趣。
在景德镇古窑，我们欣赏了古窑老师傅精湛的工艺，从拉坯到上釉、彩绘、雕刻再到烧制成型，使我们了解了陶瓷的制作工艺，及景德镇陶瓷文化和具有民族特的珍贵艺术。
我们在景德镇古窑民俗博览区看到很多精美的瓷器，看到多位非物质文化遗产传承人的现场演示；参观难得一见的蛋形窑、葫芦窑、馒头窑等各代古窑；了解和认识景德镇四大名瓷。在一家店里，我们看到桌子上摆放着各种各样用陶瓷做出来的小挂件：有凶猛的小狮子，仿佛在大吼大叫似的；有温顺可爱的小白兔，露出美丽的笑容，好像在欢迎远方客人的到来；有美丽的花正含苞待放……。还有那琳琅满目的餐具，千姿百态的雕塑瓷……我被这样的情景给吸引住了。
作为江西师范大学的留学生我们无疑是幸运的，每年学校的文化课老师都会根据课程的需要组织一次游学活动，而景德镇的游学活动是留学生最受欢迎的课，不仅可以了解中国瓷器文化的历史，学习这个文化古都的人文，还能参与到真正的瓷器制作中，真是一次难得的中国经历。

My classmates and I set out for an art study tour in Jingdezhen to experience a different style of life.
The tour guide told us that Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China, was originally called Changnan Zhen, or the township of Changnan. As Europeans did not know how to make porcelain before the 18th century, the exquisite porcelain ware from China, particularly that from Changnan, was highly treasured in Europe. Europeans used the term Changnan or its variant pronunciation China to refer to the porcelain produced there as well as to the country where it came from. Gradually, they forgot the original meaning of Changnan, remembering only that china referred to porcelain, and China to the country where it originated.
In Fuliang, a county under the jurisdiction of Jingdezhen, we visited Kung Fu Mud, a workshop that specializes in pottery training. In the workshop we had the pleasure of making pottery and porcelain pieces with our own hands there. After the instructor patiently explained the techniques of moulding the clay, we tried our own hands at making. There were four steps in the process: moulding, trimming, glazing and painting. We tried moulding the clay first. Moulding, which required great patience, was not an easy task. Every student was very attentive. With the help of the instructor, we quickly learned how to do it. Due to time restrictions, we skipped trimming and glazing, and jumped
directly to painting the porcelain. The painting part was a lot of fun, and we were all very enthusiastic. Some of us painted very well. All of the participants made one complete piece of art. Though some of the pieces didn’t come out too well, we all experienced the joy of completing our own works of art.
In an old kiln in Jingdezhen, the senior craftsmen demonstrated their excellent skills of moulding, glazing, painting, carving and firing. This gave us a good idea of the techniques of porcelain making, the porcelain culture of Jingdezhen, and the highly prized art bearing Chinese characteristics.
At the Jingdezhen Porcelain & Folklore Exhibition Area, we saw many exquisite pieces of porcelain, watched live demonstrations by quite a number of inheritors of this intangible cultural heritage, and visited some rare ancient kilns such as an egg-shaped kiln, a gourd-shaped kiln, and a steamed-bun-shaped kiln. In addition, we learned about the four most well-known types of Jingdezhen porcelain. Strolling into a shop, we found on the table a variety of small porcelain pendants. There were little lions roaring fiercely, adorable little white rabbits wearing smiles as if welcoming friends from afar, flower buds ready to blossom. Aside from these porcelain pendants, there were also porcelain table wares and sculptures on display, which were truly a feast for the eyes.
International students like us are lucky to be able to study at Jiangxi Normal University. Every year, pro
fessors teaching culture courses organize a similar study tour as part of the course syllabus. Among all of the study tours, the one in Jingdezhen is the most popular with students. During the trip we learned about the history of Chinese porcelain culture, had access to the rich artefacts of this ancient city, and took part in porcelain-making. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
