花木兰Mulan
花木兰是一位代替父亲参军的女英雄，在一首名为《花木兰歌谣》的中国著名诗中有所描述。尚不清楚这个故事是否有任何事实根据。这首诗写于北魏，最早记录在南北朝新旧音乐记录中。
Hua Mulan is a heroine who joined the army instead of her father and is described in a famous Chinese poem called Hua Mulan Ballad.  It is not clear whether the story has any factual basis.  This poem was written in the Northern Wei Dynasty and was first recorded in the old and new music records of the Northern and Southern Dynasties.
根据木兰歌谣的描述，北方王朝的可汗下令招募军队，以防止鲁兰游牧民的入侵。她父亲需要履行义务。
According to Mulan's ballad, Khan of the northern dynasty ordered the recruitment of troops to prevent the invasion of nomads in Lulan.  Her father needs to fulfill his obligations.
然而，她的父亲太老了，他无法忍受痛苦，她没有一个哥哥可以去战斗。所以木兰决定伪装成一个男人去参军，而不是她的父亲。
However, her father was too old to bear the pain and she had no brother to fight.  So Mulan decided to pretend to be a man to join the army, not her father.

Many years later, the battle ended.  In view of Mulan's military exploitation, Khan of the Northern Dynasty gave her a senior official position, but she refused the position and asked her to return home.  She put on makeup when she came home.  When her former comrades visited her at home, they were shocked to see her dressed as a woman.

For hundreds of years, Hua Mulan has been highly respected by the Chinese people as a dutiful daughter, although her story may only be a legend.  In 1998, her story was adapted into an animated film by the US Disney Entertainment Center and won worldwide acclaim.
