I could never forget fifth grade, the most difficult time in my school years. That was when Barb started bullying (欺凌) me, the shyest and quietest girl in the class.
“Bully Barb” began with small acts such as hiding my pencil case. Soon, she escalated (逐步 升级) into name-calling and using other unkind and hurtful words. She managed to persuade most of the class to make fun of me, too. Until then, I’d liked school and had been a good student. My teacher’s only complaint (抱怨) was that I didn’t take part in class, being too shy to put up my hand even when I knew the answer.
Later I hated going to school. I developed stomachaches and other illnesses. When my parents asked me what was going on, I admitted that Barb was bullying me.
They spoke to the teacher, who educated the class about getting along with each other. For
a while afterward, Barb stopped. Then she started her bullying again, and my suffering returned.
In the last week of school before summer vacation, she did the worst thing ever. During the break, she walked up behind me and threw a handful of itching powder (痒痒粉) down my back. Feeling a sharp, burning pain, I couldn’t help screaming.
I rushed back to the classroom, picked up my schoolbag and took the bus home sadly.
“What on earth happened?” my mother asked, shocked to see me coming home mid-morning.
“It’s that bad girl, Barb! I’m never going back to that school again!” I cried.
forget
Wisely, my mother let me stay home for the last few days of school. The next year, my father got a new job, and we moved to a different city.
Finally, I grew up and became a teacher. I couldn’t forget Barb, and I watched for any signs of bullying in my classroom, especially when it came to the shy, quiet students.
As the years passed, a good friend suggested that I try to get in touch with Barb and let her know what she’d done to me.
Paragraph 1: “Maybe she’ll ask you for forgiveness,” said my friend. ___
Paragraph 2: Then she went on to tell me about her life. ___
范例一
“ Maybe she’ll ask you for forgiveness,” said my friend. Thanks to my primary school, I got Barb’s email address easily. I sent her an e-mail, asking if she remembered me. Her reply, which came quickly, shocked me. She recalled that I was good at story writing and that my father, who came to pick me up every day, always wore a big smile. It seemed unbelievable that after all those years she didn’t remember her bullying at all. In fact, she sounded as if she’d been my best friend.
